Candidates must have passed HSC conducted by the West Bengal Council of Higher Secondary Education or an equivalent examination conducted by other State Board/Council.A candidate should have passed in five subjects, one of which is English, if it is another Board/Council. Candidates who have passed only four subjects are not allowed to apply.Those who are taking Honours course in a subject should have scored a minimum of 45% marks in aggregate and 55% in the subject ny related subject in his/her previous qualifying examination.The selection of students solely depends upon the merit in the qualifying exam (10+2).A merit list will be published on the official website based on the rank.Candidates whose names are listed on this list have to appear for an offline counselling on a given date to get admission in the college.During the counselling, seats will be allotted to students based on their rank and availability of seat.The table shows the seat reservation of different courses offered at UG level for different category candidates:

In 1865 Berhampore college attained the full status of a college with B.A and law classes. In the year 1897 the British Government handed over the college to the Honourable Maharaja Manindra Chandra Nandi and in 1903 as recorded in the Calcutta University calendar this Institute was re christened as Krishnath College.
Krishnath College offers various UG and PG level courses with multiple specializations along with various certification courses. The college offers BA, BA (Hons). B.Sc and B.Sc (Hons) at UG level. At PG level, KNC offers MA and M. Sc courses.
