Oct 19, 2017 · I am interested in using jsonlint on commandline in my Ubuntu 16.04 OS. So I executed . sudo apt-get install jsonlint. and I got. Reading package lists... Done Building dependency tree Reading state information... Done jsonlint is already the newest version (1.4.0-1build1). 0 upgraded, 0 newly installed, 0 to remove and 20 not upgraded.
Thank you, but : When you install jsonlint you install all this dependencies php-cli php-common php7.2-cli php7.2-common php7.2-json php7.2-opcache php7.2-readline (maybe php-pear too) and you need to get 2,519 kB, when you install jq you install this dependencies libjq1 libonig4 and you need to get 276 kB. Each one has its own preferences :)
Jun 18, 2023 · I installed jsonlint with sudo apt-get install jsonlint but I didn't get any new binaries named jsonlint (confirmed with dpkg-query -L jsonlint) The only new binary that was installed was jsonlint-php. This is on Debian 11. –
Nov 10, 2015 · Excerpt from the manpage of jsonlint: [...] -f, --format Reformat the JSON (if legal) to stdout [...] When reformatting, all members of objects (associative arrays) are always output in lexigraphical sort order. [...] That means if you use the -f option to reformat your JSON data, this tool will always alphabetically sort the entries.
