To directly respond to your question, there is no “free” version of Helvetica bundled with Windows and the version of Helvetica bundled with MacOS is a .dfont variant of TrueType Helvetica that may problematic for publishing use. Otherwise, Helvetica is a trademarked, commercial font.

Nov 16, 2015 · It's still a bad ripoff. Helvetica is a classic for good reason. Helvetica top, Arial bottom - and I probably didn't even have to point that out. The difference is obvious: The problem with Helvetica is that it comes from many sources, so unless you have the exact same font file installed, you'll get "missing font".
Dec 3, 2012 · Compare the two and you will soon see how vastly superior Helvetica is in all its nuances, even though over-use tends to dull one’s sensibility towards it. Doesn’t matter much for web text but for half decent typography always choose Helvetica over Arial if you have the choice. 1 Upvote. Translate.

Two other Helvetica Neue families from Linotype are listed immediately below it - 'Helvetica Neue LT Pro' and 'Helvetica Neue LT Std'. Second image: small subset of the Linotype Pro version (not all are loaded). Third image: Linotype Std (Standard) version.

[2] The InDesign application can also see and access font files that are stored in InDesign's application's Fonts folder. [3] An individual document can see and access font files in a Document fonts folder that is positioned in the same folder the document is also positioned.

The OpenType Helvetica LT Std font family, part of the Adobe Font Library, available either as part of the Adobe Font Folio product than can be licensed directly from Adobe or available from other foundries indeed has the same design and metrics as the original Helvetica family shipped by Adobe with PostScript printers.
Dec 21, 2017 · done by choosing Print, then choosing Adobe, then give it a file name and Save. This creates a new file that can be edited. All the original material it there. The original pdf's are in the Ariel font. When the pdf is saved using the print. to Adobe, it USE TO SAVE ALL FONTS TO THE ARIEL FONT. Now the issue is this:

Jul 28, 2021 · Here's my issue: I'm trying to edit a PDF and the Helvetica neue choices that are in my Adobe don't offer the medium or the ten others in the family. I cannot edit to match the document. I try to download the helvetica neue I have in the Mac, on a CD, in a folder and all I get is "denied" from Adobe.
