  10. Jul 26, 2016 · I had the same issue today, new part & new assembly defaulting to cm & kg instead of mm & g. Seems to have been since an update. I changed units in a new part & new assembly using 'Tools-Document Settings' then did a 'Save-as Template' & overwrote the Inventor default templates. Had to do this a few times before it stuck.
