Aug 11, 2013 · The background is also primarily a rich black (#252525 or similar) not true black (#000000). This makes it much easier to view whilst keeping the original idea for a colour scheme. This site gives you an idea of what colours look like on a background it's very useful to work out what hurts your eyes and what doesn't.

If you want the Taskbar and Start menu to be black or any other color and all apps to be White: Set 'Choose your Color' to Custom. Set Windows Mode to Dark.
Feb 13, 2022 · Part of this has to do with light levels: with a bright display (white background) the iris closes a bit more, decreasing the effect of the "deformed" lens; with a dark display (black background) the iris opens to receive more light and the deformation of the lens creates a much fuzzier focus at the eye.
Oct 14, 2019 · My PNG and JPG files have a black background in file explorer. How can I change that? Many times when I download a new PNG or JPG file it has a white or transparent background at first and then eventually it turns black. It's really annoying because many of the files are black, so with the black background I can't see them at all.

UPDATE: After hibernation-dehibernation, the new good color is gone from UI, even though it's still there in the Registry! This Windows is really a piece of art.
