Nov 24, 2019 · There are a lot of "modified" versions of Utorrent 2.2.1 with malware attached to them. Utorrent no longer distributes version 2.2.1 - so anybody downloading that version is getting a copy from some unreliable, unauthorized source who is most likely baiting you with downloading their "special edition" which has malware attached to it.
Nov 3, 2017 · Posted November 6, 2017. Looking at the URL on the screenshot, you're downloading the current stable. What you need to do is go into the Windows Defender Antivirus settings. Somewhere in there you should be able to create an exception, possibly on some sort of white list, for uTorrent.exe. Once done, uTorrent should download just fine.

It is now impossible for me to download the application on my computer because it says "virus detected" at the end of the download. I have Windows defender and I think the problem comes from there.

Sep 19, 2024 · I have been trying so hard to connect and download torrents on windows 11. DHT stucks to waiting to log in and downloads are stuck to connecting to peers. This happened since I upgraded to windows 11. Please help.

The issue Related to defender - PUATorrent:Win32/uTorrent - windows considering torrenting as "bad" activity, so they are marking torrent clients (not utorrent only) by that flag. Quote.

Click "add an exclusion" select "folder", in the page that appears browse to: C:/Users/name of pc/AppData/Roaming. highlight utorrent folder, click select folder. That's it.
Feb 5, 2016 · Posted February 11, 2016. Make sure that uTorrent isn't being blocked by your firewall. I had the same issue, when I recently installed build 41712 update. After checking Norton firewall I found that the build version and the exe files were being blocked.
Mar 8, 2018 · Try with a brand new (empty) settings file: 1) Exit uTorrent. Open uTorrent's data folder and move both settings.dat & settings.dat.old to another location/folder (you can then move them back if things don't improve). 2) Create a text file and name it settings.dat in uTorrent's data folder then launch uTorrent.
Mar 14, 2014 · HDD ss 2TB --> local download torrent file. uTorrent version 3.41 and default setting After I add torrent to uTorrent for download, Within a minute uTorrent, browser, OS is crashes. I download to HDD and file size 20GB+ with speed < 200kb/s. I run uTorrent as Admin it problem. If the download files are small than 10GB, there's no problems.
