Micro four-thirds uses 4/3"-format sensors (2x crop), while everybody else uses APS-C (1.5x and 1.6x [Canon] crop) or full-frame [1x crop].
Sep 11, 2023 · I've found a G7 for 320 euros online, and I've seen it recommended many times before, but perhaps from older posts and videos. I'm just getting into film making, and looking for a reliable camera to start shooting short films, and perhaps filming some detail shots for a bigger project later down the line.
Oct 3, 2018 · I recently picked up a G7, new US model, and it did have the 29 minute recording limit, the recording shuts off after 29 minutes and 55 seconds (it somewhere around there). I did the little trick in the video listed in this thread and that seems to have unlocked the limit, I can now record to the capacity of my card.

The G7’s interoperability isn’t great with new devices, and it’s missing in body stabilization, and other niceties that make shooting video easier. Sure you can get stabilization in the lens but, that decreases your options.
Hi, mate! I’ll agree with most of guys in comments and tell you that G7 is good for you! There is a list of pros and cons of Panasonic Lumix DMC-G7: Pros: + Improved low light performance (certainly better than the GX1 and GF series) + Surprisingly decent at fast shutter speeds. Decent, not APS-C SLR good. + Super flexible.

Nov 10, 2018 · Been a G7 owner for a year now. I've always wanted to shoot Astro pics but had doubts about the capabilities of the G7. I took a trip to Algonquin Park, Ontario in August 2018, where there was 0 light pollution (class 1) and wanted to share the stunning images I was able to capture with the G7! Unedited Stars. LCD Screen and viewfinder preview on my Lumix G7 really lags if I use shutter speed that is longer than 1/8 of a second. The longer the shutter speed the more it gets laggier. On shutter speed 60 seconds I see like a frame per 5 seconds, which is really uncomfortable. And it also only lags on manual mode, on any other it works absolutely fine.
