I have written extensively on using Word and have authored help articles on the Microsoft site. You can disable having Word check your spelling as you type if you want. This is in File > Options > Proofing.

Feb 25, 2022 · When using the online version of MS Word (build 16.0.15018.41016) the "Editor Score" side panel automatically slides out every time any suggested issue is fixed. This is an intrusive distraction to a professional's workflow and hinders productivity.
