Apr 8, 2017 · Hi Laura,yes lis is lateral internal sphirectomy.Its whereby the surgeon uses a smal incision to access your internal sphincter and divide it a bit to relieve its resting pressure allowing the fissure to heal.After 6weeks wth a fissure it becomes chronic,it wount go away with conservative gels.I used gtn too,it relieved some of the pain but it didnt heal,I cldnt continue living in pain,im glad my surgeon is confident in the procedure and recommended it immediately.id suffered for 6months!
