  4. Marshall County is situated at the base of the Northern Panhandle. It is bordered by Ohio County to the north, Wetzel County to the south, Pennsylvania to the east, and the Ohio River to the west. The county seat is Moundsville. Marshall was created from part of Ohio County on March 12, 1835.
