Netaji Subhash Open University (NSOU), founded in 1997, is the state-level open university in Kolkata. It offers distance education programs at undergraduate and postgraduate levels in arts, science, commerce, and various other streams.
Modelled on the Open University, UK and the IGNOU, it offers courses in different disciplines of taught graduate and post-graduate study and is one of the largest growing education universities in eastern India. The logo was designed by eminent painter Professor Mrinal Kanti Roy.
Netaji Subhas Open University is the premier State Open University in India. The year 1997 was the birth centenary year of Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose.
