The radio station was launched on 1 January 1990, as part of a revamp of Singapore's radio stations. It began as an 18-hour station, running from 06:00 to 24:00, before extending to 02:00 in December 1990, and eventually to 24 hours on 1 May 1994.
The radio station was previously known as 933醉心频道 (Pinyin: 933 Zuìxīn píndào).
