The first cousin of Prithviraj Kapoor, Surinder Kapoor started his career as a secretary to actor Geeta Bali and later became a film producer, helming several big films. In 1955, he got married to Nirmal and together they have three kids, sons Boney Kapoor, Anil Kapoor, and Sanjay Kapoor, and daughter Reena Kapoor Marwah. Surinder died of cardiac arrest in September 2011.
