Jun 20, 2024 · IISc Bangalore Highlights 2024. IISc Bangalore offers the BSc program as its flagship course along with various other top UG, PG, and PhD programs. Admission to the IISc BSc programs is based on JEE Advanced with the cutoff for this program ranging from 360 to 757 rank.
The IISc campus is located in the north of Bangalore, about 6 kilometres from Bangalore City Railway Station and Kempegowda Bus Station, on the way to Yeshwantpur. The institute is about 30 kilometres southwest of Kempegowda International Airport .

Admissions in IISc (B.S. course) are based on the merit rank in KVPY, JEE (Main), JEE (Advanced) and NEET. Students desirous of applying to the Bachelor of Science (Research) Programme must take at least one of the above examinations. Students need to separately apply for IISc Bangalore counselling.
The department of Aeronautical Engineering was started in December 1942. Thus, after the department of Electrical Technology, the Department of Aeronautical Engineering is the oldest engineering department at the Institute.
