Sant Tukaram Maharaj (Marathi pronunciation: [t̪ukaːɾam]), also known as Tuka, Tukobaraya, Tukoba, was a Hindu, Marathi Saint of Varkari sampradaya" in Dehu village, Maharashtra in the 17th century. He was a bhakt of the god Vithoba of Pandharpur.
Tukaram was a 17th century Marathi poet and saint who composed devotional songs, Abhanga, to Vithoba, an avatar of Vishnu. He faced many tragedies in his life, but achieved spiritual enlightenment and miraculous powers. He was killed by Brahmin priests in 1649.
