Thomas Fehlmann (born 1957) is a Swiss composer/producer who lives in Berlin, Germany, and has been active in electronic music since the 1980s. He is currently active on the Kompakt record label based in Germany. Fehlmann is an on-and-off member of Sun Electric and the Orb.

- Miles Davis - Bitches Brew. Sometimes records stick with you against their will. For me, Miles Davis’ Bitches Brew was a real door opener towards jazz, something which has never left me since.
- Robert Fripp & Brian Eno - No Pussyfooting. Both bands, Roxy Music and King Crimson, were very dear to me, so I always thought it was very attractive that these two unlikely personalities should team up and make a record together.
- Steve Reich - Drumming. I liked the concept of avant-garde records a lot, and did not necessarily have to listen to them to appreciate them. But with this record, I really enjoyed Steve Reich's drumming and sitting there listening to the tune developing.
- Laurie Anderson - O Superman. This for me was a very interesting marking stone, because suddenly an avant-garde artist that had come from the contemporary art scene had a pop hit by applying electronica through a comic figure.
Thomas Felhmann is one half of The Orb and has been releasing records under his own name since the early nineties. The roots of almost Thomas Fehlmann’s almost 30-year-long career lie in his work with German avant garde band ‘Palais Schaumburg’ he co-founded with partner Holger Hiller.

Initially interested in pursuing a career in art at the Art Academy in Hamburg during the 1970’s, a life-changing meeting with experimental musician Conrad Schnitzler altered the course of his career forever.
