Reportedly, the veteran Punjabi actor had been suffering from certain gall bladder complications since a month and was under treatment. According to a report in Indian Express, a source said, "His condition worsened a couple of days back and he was admitted to Sunridges hospital in Juhu, Mumbai. Unfortunately, despite the best medical efforts, he couldn't be saved and passed away at 6.20 pm."

Oct 24, 2015 · Bollywood actor Abhay Deol's father and industry legend Dharmendra's younger brother Ajit Singh Deol passed away here. Ajit, who was ailing for long, breathed his last evening around 6.30 pm, family sources said on Saturday. The actor-director had been a part of many Punjabi films besides being known for Hindi movies like Khhotte Sikkay (1974), Meharbaani (1982) and Barsaat (1995).
