Yamaguchi Prefecture is quiet and rural, but has many sites of great historical significance. Hagi, the capital of a major samurai domain, hosts one of the most beautifully preserved castle towns in Japan and a local style of pottery.
- Tsunoshima Ohashi. This 1,780 meters long bridge connects the mainland of Yamaguchi prefecture and Tsunoshima island. It was completed in 2000 and it takes about only 3 minutes to get to the other island by car but you can cross the bridge also by walking or bicycle.
