Jun 3, 2016 · Hi, i just tried to use the 'Intel Driver update utility' on my Acer aspire 5738 laptop. It finds a driver to update ok but then fails when it proceeds to install it, with an 'unknown error'. I've tried 3 times now with re-boots to no avail. Any tips would be great. Aug 7, 2017 · Bear in mind that the Intel® Driver Update Utility has been mainly designed for Intel motherboards. We cannot guarantee our utility will be able to work fine on every OEM system. We recommend updating drivers using the utility the computer manufacturer has designed for your computer.
May 30, 2016 · 05-30-2016 03:16 PM. I originally installed the driver update utility and it was garbage as it failed to determine what drivers really needed to be installed. So I ran it today and it needed to update. However the install program crashed. Went to install 2.5 from scratch and it also fails. "Setup failed".
