D.C. Fontana (1939-2019) was a pioneering female author who worked on Star Trek, Logan's Run, Babylon 5 and other sci-fi shows and movies. She also wrote novels, taught at the American Film Institute and was inducted into the American Screenwriters Association Hall of Fame.
