   What is the difference between 'this' and 'has'?

   • The same applies to "this": "this's" would be indistinguishable from "this is" anyway. This sounds about right. I appreciated the menton of "has" being the same, because I have a few younger friends who occasionally (presumably) backform it: "The cat's been in the barn." to "The cat is been in the barn."
