Sir Jagadish Chandra Bose CSI CIE FRS (/ b oʊ s /; IPA: [dʒɔɡodiʃ tʃɔndro boʃu]; 30 November 1858 – 23 November 1937) was a polymath with interests in biology, physics, botany and writing science fiction.
Sir Jagadish Chandra Bose was an Indian plant physiologist and physicist whose invention of highly sensitive instruments for the detection of minute responses by living organisms to external stimuli enabled him to anticipate the parallelism between animal and plant tissues noted by later.
