Downside School (simply referred to as Downside) is an 11–18 mixed, Roman Catholic, independent, day and boarding school in Stratton-on-the-Fosse, Somerset, England. It was established in 1614 and is located in the Roman Catholic Diocese of Clifton.

DOWNSIDE SCHOOL FEES FOR THE ACADEMIC YEAR 2024/25: One-off nights on an ad hoc basis, subject to availability, will be charged at £60 per night in the Junior School and £75 in the Senior School. EXEATS: The School remains open for international boarders over the Exeat weekends at a fee of £225 per child, per weekend.
During World War One, over 500 Downside boys served in the forces, and 109 of them lost their lives. Their average age was 25 and more than a fifth gained some honour or distinction. All their names are inscribed on the School’s War Memorial which was unveiled in 1922.

May 20, 2024 · Downside School in Somerset has been graded ‘Outstanding’ in all nine categories by the Catholic Schools Inspectorate, following the visit of inspectors from 25th-26th April 2024 which examined the school’s Catholic life and mission, religious education, and collective worship.
