St Kieran's College ( Coláiste Chiaráin) is a Roman Catholic secondary school, located on College Road, Kilkenny, County Kilkenny, Ireland . History. St Kieran's College was founded in Kilkenny, in the diocese of Ossory in 1782, [1] after the passing of the Catholic Relief Act of 1782.
With a proud tradition as the oldest secondary school in Ireland, St Kieran’s College is the diocesan school of Ossory and is under the patronage of the Bishop of Ossory. The course of studies offered to students at St. Kieran’s College comprises six years, three years at Junior Certificate cycle and three years at Leaving Certificate cycle.
