Gresham's School is a public school (English fee-charging boarding and day school) in Holt, Norfolk, England, one of the top thirty International Baccalaureate schools in England. The school was founded in 1555 by Sir John Gresham as a free grammar school for forty boys, following King Henry VIII's dissolution of Beeston Priory.

History and Archive. Gresham’s was founded in 1555 by Sir John Gresham, who converted Holt’s Manor House into a Free Grammar School as a result of Henry VIII’s suppression of the Monasteries. This regime had abolished the only local school at St Mary’s Priory in Beeston Regis, leaving local children without access to education.

In Year 9, pupils study the complete curriculum, including exposure to the full set of sciences, humanities, creative subjects and up to three languages.
