Jesse Louis Lasky (September 13, 1880 – January 13, 1958) was an American pioneer motion picture producer who was a key founder of what was to become Paramount Pictures, and father of screenwriter Jesse L. Lasky Jr.
Jesse L. Lasky (1880-1958) was one of the first producers of the Hollywood film industry and its first genuine 'mogul'. He made the first feature shot in Hollywood, The Squaw Man (1914), and helped create Paramount Pictures, signing stars like Rudolph Valentino and Maurice Chevalier.
