Takeo Fukuda (福田 赳夫, Fukuda Takeo, 14 January 1905 – 5 July 1995) was a Japanese politician who served as Prime Minister of Japan from 1976 to 1978. A member of the House of Representatives from 1952 to 1990, he was part of the Liberal Democratic Party from its foundation.
Fukuda Takeo was a Japanese financial specialist who was prime minister from 1976 to 1978. Born into a wealthy farming family of Gumma ken (prefecture), Fukuda attended the finest schools and, upon graduating from Tokyo University (1929), immediately entered the Ministry of Finance.
