Devi Lal (born Devi Dayal; 25 September 1914 – 6 April 2001), also known as Chaudhary Devi Lal, was an Indian statesman and politician who served as 6th Deputy Prime Minister of India from 1989 to 1990 and from 1990 to 1991.
Chaudhary Devi Lal University, named after Chaudhary Devi Lal, the former Deputy Prime Minister of India was established by the Government of Haryana on 2 April 2003. The University, located at Sirsa 256 km from Delhi and 285 km from Chandigarh, has area of 280 acres on the Barnala Road.
