Harry Bowens. (b. October 8 th. 1949). Vocalist who came to prominence as a member of funk & R&B outfit, Was (Not Was). Was (Not Was) is an American pop group founded by David Weiss and Don Fagenson, who adopted the stage names David Was and Don Was.
On vocals they recruited Harry Bowens and "Sweet Pea" Atkinson, who frequently found themselves singing absurdist and satirical songs alongside tender ballads. Wayne Kramer of MC5, The Knack's Doug Fieger, and trumpeter Marcus Belgrave were among the guest players.
