She creates rhythmic and ambient soundscapes using digital processing techniques, a laptop computer, and repurposed elements of electronic drumming equipment.
Professor Ikue Mori, head of the Nagoya University Neuroscience Institute, received the 2022 Toray Science and Technology Prize for her research into neural circuit mechanisms which regulate animal behaviour. She is the 3rd female winner of the prize since its inception in 1960.
