A microchip James Bond recovers from the body of 003 in Siberia is a copy of one that is impervious to the magnetic pulse of a nuclear blast. It is made by a company recently acquired by Anglo-French combine Zorin Industries, so Bond is assigned to investigate Max Zorin.
Overview. A newly-developed microchip designed by Zorin Industries for the British Government that can survive the electromagnetic radiation caused by a nuclear explosion has landed in the hands of the KGB. James Bond must find out how and why.
Through Tibbett, Bond meets with French private detective Achille Aubergine, who informs Bond that Zorin is holding a horse sale later in the month. During their dinner at the Eiffel Tower, Aubergine is assassinated by Zorin's bodyguard May Day (Grace Jones) (Zorin's lover and chief of staff.
