L’histoire se base sur un fait divers qui s’est passé à Saillans, dans la Drôme, en 1924. C’est un joli cabanon en bois, situé au milieu des vignes, aux fenêtres et appui de fenêtre rose. Un cabanon habité par un paysan, peintre fou à ses heures perdues, qui ne peint que des femmes nues.
