The Grub-Stake is a 1923 American silent Western film produced by and starring Nell Shipman. It was directed by Shipman's partner Bert Van Tuyle. It is considered an independent film.
Summaries. A young woman is lured to the Yukon by a gambler with promises of marriage and a grubstake for a gold mine. She takes her ailing father with her, only to discover when she gets there that the gambler was lying to her and actually planned to sell her to a dance hall.
The complete title of the film included the subtitle A Tale of the Klondike.The picture was released in Britain under the title The Romance of Lost Valley, and in 1927, Aywon Film Corp. re-released the picture in the United States under the title The Golden Yukon.
