The Wild Geese (Japanese: 雁, Hepburn: Gan) is a 1953 Japanese drama film directed by Shirō Toyoda. The film is based on Mori Ōgai's novel of the same name. Hideko Takamine stars as Otama, a young woman who becomes the mistress of a married man in order to support her aging father.
Synopsis. A British multinational company seeks to overthrow a vicious dictator in central Africa. It hires a band of (largely aged) mercenaries in London and sends them in to save the virtuous but imprisoned opposition leader who is also critically ill and due for execution.
