Jun 14, 2022 · Although daily life swirls by nonstop in Paharganj, the area caters to tourists, and you’ll find plenty of shops offering everything from incense to shoes. Don’t expect to do much window-shopping: most shops are small, cluttered spaces where an attendant will need to help you.
Paharganj. As you step out of the New Delhi Railway Station and cross the road, you stand at the entrance of Paharganj Main Bazaar. Stretching for about a kilometre, it is a bargainer's paradise. Chaotic, noisy and dirty, the market is only for shoppers who are rough and tough.
The location of Paharganj is excellent for New Delhi sightseeing. The New Delhi railway station is located right at the end of the Main Bazaar and attractions such as the Red Fort, Kashmir Gate, Chandni Chowk, India Gate etc are all within a cheap rickshaw ride or half hour to hour walk.
