A large protest march of escaped slaves is an episode in the history of Chico Bondade and Boaventura, who had already become legendary for their difficult and daring missions.
This is very didatic and stuffy and the first half is very rough, it improves some later on as Goulart and Pelé goes to the former lands as at least it has something to dramatize. Director Sampaio did one of my favorite Brazilian movies of the 50s, so I wish this was better, but outside of some flashes of masochism, it is flat academicism.
