The Delhi–Mumbai Expressway is a 1,350 km long, 8-lane wide (expandable to 12-lane) under-construction (partially operational) access-controlled expressway connecting India's national capital New Delhi to its financial capital Mumbai.
The 8-lane expressway connects Delhi to Gurgaon and IGIA. Delhi–Gurgaon Expressway is a 28 km long access-controlled toll expressway connecting Delhi, the national capital of India, and Gurgaon on NH48. The highway runs from Delhi to Mumbai wherein the Delhi-Gurgaon Expressway runs till outskirts of Gurgaon.
One such greenfield corridor identified was the Delhi – Mumbai Expressway passing through the states of Haryana, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat and Maharashtra. The alignment reduces the distance between Delhi and Mumbai by around 150 km and the travel time to 13 hours from the current 24 hours.

National Highway 48 (NH 48) is a major National Highway of India that starts at Delhi and terminates at Chennai traversing through seven states of India. It has a total length of 2807 km (1744 miles). NH 48 passes through the states of Delhi, Haryana, Rajasthan, Gujarat, Maharashtra, Karnataka and Tamil Nadu.
