The ending of “A Dark Place” reveals that Donald Devocio is not the culprit behind the missing child case. In fact, the real perpetrator is revealed to be the town’s sheriff, played by Griff Furst. Throughout the film, the sheriff is portrayed as a trustworthy figure who is dedicated to finding the missing child.
