The first book in the best-selling series by Rick Riordan, The Lightning Thief follows Percy Jackson as he embarks on a quest to find Zeus' master bolt, stolen by a god-hating thief. Along the way, he learns about his demigod heritage, faces mythological enemies, and uncovers a dark family secret.
Percy Jackson, a demigod son of Poseidon, must find the stolen lightning bolt of Zeus and prevent a war among the gods. He travels across the US with his friends Grover and Annabeth, facing monsters, challenges and betrayals along the way.
Percy Jackson and the Olympians: The Lightning Thief is a 2010 fantasy-adventure film adaptation of The Lightning Thief, written by Rick Riordan, who did not contribute to the making of this film, directed by Chris Joseph Columbus, and is the first installment of the Percy Jackson film series.
