Tallapaka Annamacharya ( Telugu: తాళ్ళపాక అన్నమాచార్య, romanized : tāḷḷapāka annamācārya) (22 May 1408 – 4 April 1503), also popularly known as Annamayya, was a musician, composer, and a Hindu saint. He is the earliest known Indian musician to compose songs called samkirtanas.
Annamayya is a 1997 Indian Telugu -language hagiographical film directed by K. Raghavendra Rao and produced by V. Doraswamy Raju under the VMC Productions banner.

Sankeertanas. Annamacharya is honored with the title, “PADA KAVITA PITHAMA” which means the grand father of the form of poetry called “PADAM”. “PADAM” means a song. Since the Saints songs are devotional in nature, they are called “Sankeertanas” also.
