Sanjay Kishan Kaul (born 26 December 1958) is a former judge and lawyer who served as a judge of the Supreme Court of India since 2017 until upon his retirement in 2023. He has served as the first puisne judge , senior-most after the Chief Justice of India .
Justice Sanjay Kishan Kaul was born on December 26, 1958. He studied in Modern School, New Delhi till 1976 and graduated in Economics (Hons.) from St. Stephens College, Delhi University in 1979. Justice Kaul obtained his LL.B. Degree from the Campus Law Centre, Delhi University in 1982 and enrolled as an Advocate with Bar Council of Delhi on July 15, 1982.
Justice Sanjay Kishan Kaul graduated in Economics (Hons.) from St. Stephens College, Delhi University in 1979 and obtained his LL.B. Degree from The Campus Law Centre, Delhi University in 1982. Career as an Advocate. In the same year, he enrolled as an Advocate with the Bar Council of Delhi.
