Gilles Grangier (5 May 1911 – 27 April 1996) was a French film director and screenwriter. He directed more than 50 films and several TV series between 1943 and 1985. His film Archimède le clochard was entered into the 9th Berlin International Film Festival, where Jean Gabin won the Silver Bear for Best Actor.
Gilles Grangier naît sous le nom d'état civil de Gilles Gaston Grangier en 1911 dans le 3 e arrondissement de Paris [1]. En 1934, il se présente spontanément aux studios Paramount de Joinville et commence en faisant de la figuration. Il devient assistant régisseur, puis régisseur.
Gilles Grangier (1911-1996) was a filmmaker who made story and character-based entertainments, rather than message films. He was known for Archimède, le clochard, Train d'enfer and The Night Affair, among others.
