Aug 13, 2012 · I've used Demonoid as my primary tracker since 2006. TPB is a backup (mostly used for foreign stuff). Pretty much every other publicly available tracker pales in comparison to Demonoid. Mind, I do use some private trackers, but they're not as full as Demonoid was.
If Demonoid's admins had site backups they easily could have had the site back up in under a day on another host. Instead, 4 months later it comes limping back online, that makes no sense. It's also known that the original server was handed over to the US government.
