Sidi Larbi Cherkaoui (born 1976) is a Belgian dancer and choreographer and director. He has made over 50 choreographic pieces and received two Laurence Olivier Award for Best New Dance Production , three Ballet Tanz awards for best choreographer (2008, 2011, 2017), the KAIROS Prize (2009) [1] and the Europe Prize Theatrical Realities (2018).
Starting from the season 2022-2023, Sidi Larbi Cherkaoui will direct the Ballet of the Grand Théâtre de Genève. He is also an associate artist at Sadler’s Wells, London and Théâtre National de Bretagne, Rennes.
Sidi Larbi Cherkaoui, né à Anvers le 10 mars 1976 [1], est un danseur et chorégraphe belge néerlandophone de danse contemporaine. Il fait partie de la nouvelle génération émergente des chorégraphes flamands formés autour notamment d'Alain Platel et des Ballets C de la B et d'Anne Teresa De Keersmaeker à la fin des années 1990.
