Hisar District was the largest district in Haryana till its reorganisation. Later, some parts of it were transferred to Jind District in 1966 when it was made a new district. Tehsil Bhiwani and Loharu estate were transferred to Bhiwani District when Bhiwani was carved out in the year 1974.
