What is Gallatin? BL: The NYU Gallatin School of Individualized Study is a unique school like no other where students are able to connect diverse interests to create their own program of study. At the Gallatin School of Individualized Study, each student works with a faculty adviser to build a unique curriculum and create a concentration that fits their intellectual interests and career goals. Gallatin students take core courses within Gallatin as well as classes in other schools of NYU.
As a Gallatin student, you will develop a unique concen-tration based on your own academic and professional goals. A concentration, which takes the place of a traditional major, is a program of study organized around a theme, problem, activity, period of history, area of the world, or central idea.
All prospective students and their parents are invited to visit the New York University campus. In addition to coming to a Gallatin information session, it is recommended that prospective applicants attend an NYU information session and campus tour hosted by the Office of Undergraduate Admissions.
