Grey College is a college of Durham University in England, founded in 1959 as part of the university's expansion of its student population. The college was originally planned to be named Oliver Cromwell College, but this proved too controversial.

Grey College was founded in 1959 as part of the University’s drive to expand its student population which in 1951 stood at 1,150 (compared to 19,500 in 2019-20). Syd Holgate, the then Secretary of Durham Colleges, was employed to be the new Master.
Grey College at the University of Durham was established in 1959 and named for the second Earl Grey, the Prime Minister of Britain in 1832 when the University of Durham was founded. Grey College occupies spacious grounds south of the River Wear and overlooking the historic Durham city center.
