Baldeo Das Birla opened the Birla School in Pilani, Rajasthan in 1918. It is one of the oldest schools in Rajasthan. He later opened a Sanskrit library in Banaras and a miscellaneous library in Calcutta. He was closely associated with Mahatma Gandhi and funded Gandhiji’s Swaraj Movement.
