A former limited over captain, [1] Tharanga played for all formats of the game. He is a left-handed opening batsman and occasional wicket-keeper.
Upul Tharanga is a left-handed batter who has played for Sri Lanka in Tests, ODIs and T20Is since 2005. He has scored 17 centuries and 75 half-centuries in ODIs, and has also captained the team in some matches.
