Darren James Lockyer (born 24 March 1977) is an Australian television commentator and former professional rugby league footballer. Lockyer was an Australian international and Queensland State representative captain, who played his entire professional career with the Brisbane Broncos.

There are perhaps two enduring moments of Darren Lockyer’s career. The first being him swooping upon an errant NSW pass in game three of the 2006 State of Origin series.
His inspirational performances that year earned him the Adidas ‘Golden Boot’ Award as International Player of the Year. In a bold move Lockyer shifted to five-eighth with the Broncos in 2004 and continued to lead Australia and Queensland from that position.
Darren Lockyer was Inducted into The Sport Australia Hall of Fame on October 11 2018 as an Athlete Member for the sport of rugby league.
